Nau mai, haere mai and welcome to Te Kura o Cobden School – a place where every child is known, every learner is valued, and every whānau belongs.
Nestled in the heart of Te Tai Poutini, we are proud to be a school that combines high expectations for learning with genuine care for every child. Our classrooms are places of curiosity, creativity, challenge, and success, where children are encouraged to discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Learning at Cobden School extends beyond the classroom. Our local environment, rich history, and strong community connections provide authentic opportunities for tamariki to explore, grow, and develop a deep sense of identity and belonging.
Everything we do is guided by our values of Manaakitanga (We Care), Mahi Ngātahi (We Cooperate), and Kōrero Mai (We Communicate). We encourage curiosity, creativity, resilience, and confidence so every learner can build respectful relationships, contribute positively to their community, and become confident, capable young people ready for the future.
Whether you're considering Cobden School for the first time or you're already part of our school whānau, we invite you to explore our website and discover what makes our school such a special place to learn, grow, and belong.
Me mahi tahi tātou mō te oranga o te katoa
We should work together for the wellbeing of everyone
Kia ora koutou,
With the school holidays just around the corner and Matariki almost here, I hope there'll be an opportunity for everyone to slow down a little and spend some time with whānau and friends.
This week's Nutrition Bites explores the connection between Matariki and kai. Kai is often at the heart of our memories, celebrations, and the time we spend together with our loved ones. I've also shared some wonderful reflections from tamariki about their favourite kai and the special memories that come with them.
Wishing everyone a restful Matariki and a safe, enjoyable school holiday break over the next two weeks
Ngā mihi nui,

Hi everyone!
Here is the draw for the final game of the term!
For the year 3/4 teams this is their last game of the year, unfortunately the cyclones have a bye so will not be playing, however, it would be great to see lots of support come to watch the Cougars play at 3:30pm!
The Crusaders play at 6:15pm and The Crushers play at 7:00pm.
Thanks!
Ngā Mihi,
